(BLIVRE-2018) Bíblia Livre

Bíblia Livre is a Brazilian Portuguese update of João Ferreira de Almeida’s translation, starting from the 1819 edition.

The work is by Diego Santos, Mario Sérgio and Marco Teles. The text read on this site is the February 2018 release.

The project publishes the New Testament on two Greek bases: the Textus Receptus and the 1904 Nestle critical text. The Old Testament is the same in both.

The project page and the GitHub repository explain that split and offer the files in several formats.

It is not in the public domain. Copying is free under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 Brazil licence.

The licence requires the source and the authors to be named. If the text is changed, the change must also be made clear.

The credit line the authors ask for is: Bíblia Livre (BLIVRE), Copyright © Diego Santos, Mario Sérgio, and Marco Teles.

Where space is short, the abbreviation BLIVRE is enough, as the authors themselves say in the licence text.

It is not the Almeida Revista e Corrigida of the Sociedade Bíblica do Brasil, nor the 1917 Brazilian Translation. The text and the licence are different.
